Ethiopian Airlines 777 freighter catches fire in Shanghai

An Ethiopian Airlines 777 freighter caught fire this morning at Shanghai Pudong Airport while loading cargo. The blaze was thought to have started on the main deck and spread through the fuselage of the five-year old aircraft. No one was hurt and the fire was contained quickly. Ethiopian said it was working with the relevant authorities to investigate. It was flying between Brussels and Sao Paulo.

Ethiopian recently told Cargo Facts it was to add six freighters to its fleet: one 777; three converted 767s; and two converted 737s. The website Sam Chui seems to have the best images and videos.
