The infighting at Schiphol could be set to end following the news that the Dutch Supreme Court has ruled that the previous government and airport’s plan to cut slots was illegal.

Dutch carriers’ future on some transatlantic routes could be in doubt after powerful lobbying group, Airlines for America, this week launched an official complaint with the US Department of Transport, labelling the slot reduction at Schiphol “unlawful on multiple grounds”.

Freighter tax plan is ‘stupid’ and ‘a major negative’ for Dutch supply chains

Dutch politicians and the aviation industry yesterday labelled the proposed new Dutch aviation tax “stupid” at an expert meeting at the senate.
A recent report by Dutch research institute SEO concluded that the planned tax on freighter flights would have “major negative effects” on the industry and Dutch trade.

India’s Jet Airways’ slots at Amsterdam Schiphol are likely to be used on an ad hoc basis from July, after the Netherlands slot coordinator ruled that KLM’s attempt to take over Jet’s Dutch business was not valid.
