While airlines will be relieved, not everyone is happy, reports AP. “We were threatened by a company that was crippled, dying, bleeding on the ground, and us as one of the biggest unions in the country couldn’t even extract two-thirds of our demands from them. This is humiliating,” said one worker.
Nevertheless, ...

Martin Drew, chief strategy and transformation officer at Atlas Air, said: “Certainly from a capacity perspective, there is a severe shortage of widebody freight capacity.
“Without doubt, demand is outweighing supply, and that’s thanks to companies such ...

The strikers have rejected a 35% wage hike offer by management a few days ago.
Nearly two-thirds (64%) of the 33,000 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, districts 751 and W24, who voted rejected the proposal. While some called it a step in ...

It now has 14 awaiting delivery from Boeing between now and the end of 2026.
The carrier has also extended its leases on four 777Fs with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, which will give it a fleet of 21 by the end of 2026, a significant expansion from its current 11. It added that it ...

The carrier said it was evaluating the size of the order. It currently operates 11 777Fs, and leases 747Fs, while having nine 77Fs on order, according to The National – although delivery dates for those have slipped up to six months, causing capacity shortages for this ...

It will also cut 17,000 staff.
President and CEO Kelly Ortberg said customers should not expect 777-9s before 2026; and no 777-8Fs before 2028, citing a “difficult position” for the business. “It’s ...

The labour conflict is taking a heavy toll on Boeing and reducing its credit rating, allegedly causing management to consider a sale of stock and equity to raise money.
After two days of mediated negotiations this week failed, Boeing halted ...

Growth in demand and available lift have diverged increasingly this year, and supply of large widebody aircraft remains constricted by supply chain issues and other problems in aircraft manufacturing. This has a knock-on effect on the availability of planes for conversion into cargo aircraft, further exacerbating the constraints on capacity.
In its latest update on the market, ...

According to Robert Convey, the firm’s SVP, sales and marketing, the situation is “serious”, and compounded by a lack of demand for those freighters.
Over the past two years, industry analysts have been warning of a potential oversupply – reportedly, around 80 737-800s were converted last year, but Mr Convey thinks this figure is exaggerated.
