DHL singled out its Global Forwarding division for a weaker-than-expected third quarter, and confirmed it was lowering its profit forecast for the year.
Despite growing group revenues, up 6.2% year on year over the three month period to October, at €20.6bn $22.4bn), DHL was only able to translate this into a barely noticeable 0.1% uptick in profits, to €1.37bn, failing to eat into the 14.2% year-to-date decline in EBIT of €4bn.

Poland has arrested four people on allegations of endangering DHL freighters and crew, as concerns deepen over suspected Russian efforts to plant explosives in EU supply chains.

Continuing demand weakness hammered German logistics giant DHL’s Q2 revenues, with its forwarding division bearing the brunt of the bad news.

DHL’s Global Forwarding division was the shining star in what the company called a “solid” set of results – which also noted the “normalisation” of e-commerce after the pandemic-related surge.

DHL Express will invest its record profits in organically growing its global footprint, rather than making more acquisitions.
